  • ¾ kilogram peeled and grated turnip
  • 1 cup flour
  • ¼ cup:
  • diced capsicum:
  • red - green
  • 2 chopped onions
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 5 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • ½ teaspoon:
  • salt - black pepper - paprika - chilli - baking powder - turmeric

How to prepare a turnip omelette


  1. Put half a litre of water in a pot over medium heat, add the grated turnip, and leave it after boiling for 25 minutes until it becomes tender, then drain it from the water and leave it aside until it cools down a bit, then squeeze it well from the water and put it in another pot and add the chopped onions, crushed garlic, eggs, salt and pepper paprika, chilli, baking powder and turmeric, stir well until the ingredients interfere with each other, then add 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, stir and then add flour gradually until we get a cohesive mixture.
  2. Grease a tray with the remaining vegetable oil and spread the prepared mixture in it with a thickness of 1.5 centimetres, then distribute the coloured peppers on the face and put the tray in an oven at a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes until the omelette is cooked and browned and takes on a golden color. Remove, cut and pour into a serving dish.
