How to make Melt and Pour soap using my homemade recipe

In this blog post, you’ll learn how to make a melt and pour soap using my homemade recipe. To begin, you will need some supplies. You will need:

  • 1 bar of Ivory soap
  • 3 cups of hot water
  • 1 cup of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of beeswax
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 3 cups of cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper

--To make the base, you will need 1/4 cup of cornstarch. In a small saucepan, stir together 3 cups of hot water and 1 cup of olive oil until the mixture boils. Add the beeswax, and simmer for about 20 minutes. Pour this mixture into a large pot, and heat over medium heat until it starts to boil. lowered the heat to low, and stir in 1/2 cup of ivory soap until it becomes melted. Pour this mixture into a mould that has been made out of silicone rubber.

First, you’ll need some of the ingredients necessary to melt and pour soap. You’ll need soap bars, lye, oil, and water. Second, you’ll need a pot or saucepan large enough to fit your entire batch of soap. Third, you’ll need a stirring spoon or your hands to mix the lye and oil together. Fourth, you’ll need a bowl large enough to hold all of your ingredients. Fifth, you’ll need a milling tool like a fine mesh strainer or a chopstick to chop the soap into small pieces. Sixth, you’ll need an oven or stove that can be set to medium-high heat. Seventh, you’ll need an oven glove to protect your hands from heat damage while adding the ingredients to the pot or saucepan. Eighth, you’ll need oven mitts or other protective clothing when stirring the ingredients in the pot or saucepan. Ninth, be sure to have an airtight container that will store your Melt and Pour soap until it's time to use it.
