When you exfoliate your skin with regular natural scrubs, it looks healthier.

The homemade coffee grounds scrub, for smooth and wonderful skin!

Know that after the exfoliation of dead cells from the skin, the largest and most important organs of the bodywork better at eliminating toxins, assimilating nutrients and absorbing hydration.

The coffee grounds scrub stimulates blood circulation, the skin is better irrigated, unified, softer to the touch and radiates freshness. Also, it helps reduce stretch marks – great for postpartum moms!

This is where I share with you my favourite scrub recipe, homemade and so good. Let's go?

The benefits of a homemade coffee grounds scrub.

A scrub rich in coffee, coconut oil and raw sugar has many skin health benefits:

  • The caffeine present in coffee grounds scrubs stimulates blood circulation, fades cellulite and gives the skin a more even complexion.
  • Coconut oil is an excellent skin softener and helps fight dry or hard skin.
  • Coconut oil prevents the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin. It helps maintain the connective tissues of the skin.
  • Thanks to its antioxidant properties, coconut oil prevents premature ageing and degenerative diseases.
  • Sugar contains glycolic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid essential for maintaining healthy skin. The natural glycolic acid found in sugar helps cleanse and moisturize the skin but also protects it from harsh toxins.

To be honest, I don't use a lot of “classic” chemical cosmetics. Purchased in supermarkets or pharmacies. That doesn't mean that I don't take care of my personal hygiene or my skin, on the contrary!

I wash, moisturize and tone my body and face. Only, I buy the products that I find in the grocery and supplements section, rather than that of cosmetics etc.

One of the beauty products that I love to prepare is the homemade natural scrub. Every night, before going to bed, I exfoliate my face with my coffee grounds scrub. And which, by the way, also serves as an exfoliant in the shower.

Yes, one product, two uses, economical and practical. Saves me bathroom space and money.

Enough about me, let's get to the ingredients!

Ingredients for a gourmet and homemade coffee grounds scrub

Obviously, the basis of the coffee grounds scrub is…coffee! Coffee beans have a truly mind-blowing effect on the body.

Not only do they exfoliate and cleanse, but they also stimulate blood circulation, reduce the appearance of cellulite, fade scars and soothe eczema. Brilliant, though, right?

For deeper exfoliation, you can add Xylitol, a natural sweetening agent, which eats bacteria found on the skin.

Otherwise, to save more pennies, you can use sugar or salt, they too will act as very effective exfoliating agents.

These 3 ingredients have helped me overcome dead skin cells, black pimples, acne and other unsightly marks. All this, in a 100% natural way, without chemicals and at a low price!

To moisturize and deeply cleanse your face and body, use natural vegetable oil. Personally, and for the reasons mentioned above, coconut oil is my favourite.

Coconut oil will not only regenerate my skin, it will also rid it of dirt, dead skin and even has antibacterial properties. It's crazy what nature gives us…When I think about it, it makes me laugh, it's so beautiful.

As a natural fragrance, I really like vanilla, so I use vanilla bean or vanilla extract. Like most of the ingredients in my homemade natural scrubs, it fulfils a double function.

First, the vanilla adds an exquisite and gourmet scent to the scrub. But it doesn't stop there. It is also known to heal wounds and can be used as a topical anti-inflammatory.

Basically, vanilla relieves and calms inflamed or irritated skin. It is packed with vitamins and minerals that are excellent for the development of healthy skin.

And finally, essential oils. Yes, it's my scrub, I'm having fun. So I like to add essential oils to it because of my painful ( sniff sniff)  acne history. Tea tree essential oil – tea tree for friends – has helped me a lot, and I love it. So I add her.

Afterwards, it really depends on your tastes, your skin type, and your needs. Have fun!
